The course provides delegates with a knowledge of the approved approaches used for foundation design calculations used in EC7 and comprises worked examples which concentrate on shallow and piled foundations for advanced structures and requirements.
It includes an analysis of the equations used and design approaches using limit state and partial factors.

Worked examples of pile foundations to EC7 subject to combined loadings in layered strata and including pile tests

This course is aimed at geotechnical practitioners and engineers who are involved in foundation design recommendations and who are starting to carry out geotechnical design using EC7 approaches or who feel they would benefit from a refresher.
The course delegates should have a knowledge and basic understanding of soil mechanics and geotechnical design. They should have a degree in civil engineering and/or a Masters in engineering geology/geotechnics.
